indocilites, UNITE! (okay, i borrowed the first term from jeff, guilty as charged) i have to admit, i too am guilty of reading this site and then winging (pronounced: wind-jing) about how few new posts there are. so here i am. posting up like hollye a year and a half ago. so since we last talked, not much has happened. though, it seems i missed my favorite mocumentry personality on letterman. which angers me to no end. no end whatsoever.
however. i did drive for ten hours today. i can't feel my feet. unless i reach down and touch them. camping in southern oregon with my brother though...makes it all worth while. we saw many of natures grotesque and dishonest creations: fish: i mean, who breathes under water, besides aquaman. and everyone knows he died six years ago from gout. eagles: if things were meant to fly, they'd be born equipped with jet engines and small bags of peanuts. i don't think so mister eagle. sea otters: come on man! we all know you're a cat. sea lions: i actually believe in sea lions. everyone knows that real lions evolved from sea lions. i mean, look at the facts: 1) both can be frighteningly loud. 2) they have fur and stuff. 3) need i even mention the teeth? 4) sometimes, if you find that special spot where the ocean meets the jungle, you can witness for yourself, the primal lust, irreplaceable by mother nature and uncle evolution, between lions, sea or otherwise. and of course the landshark: one ate my dinner on friday night. sure, i went hungry. but at least it didn't eat me. other interesting things i learned this weekend: 1) no matter how small a town you are in oregon, you still have a liquor store. 2) if you listen to radiohead's 'the bends' twelve times in a row because you left your CD's in portland, the songs never ever change. 3) if you leave your apartment in a state of disaster, it will be the same when you get home. no matter how tired you are.
well...see you later.

Hello Indocilites!
I just want to say that this website is great. I like reading things but I never post. I feel guilty about that, but I am just not interesting. I want to post fun things, but everything I put down is boring. I don't enjoy writing boring things, I do so by instinct. I admit I often start to write a post and then abandon it in disgust. I'm not a quitter, of course - I just lose interest in things that do not come easily. The difference is fine, but quantifiable.
I saw the main guy from THE OFFICE on Letterman a few nights ago. Apparently he wrote a children's book. He was also promoting a new show starring himself as a struggling actor. It should be funny because THE OFFICE was funny. Deductive reasoning wins the day!

art history 1945-present -- 3 credits
history of graphic design -- 3 credits
portfolio seminar (listen to guest speakers once a week) -- 2 credits
portfolio review (work with a professor to polish up my portfolio once a week) -- 2 credits
after that, i have a few options. i can take a packaging class, where we design and create packages for products. i can take a studio class, where we do outside client work (but only three people signed up for this class, so we aren't sure what's going to happen with that). i could take information design or advanced new media, but those don't interest me too much. or i could just do an independent study. hmm... i'm not sure what i want to do.

Feelings
19 February 05 - 23:33 |
So, basically, the life aquatic is an amazing movie. It's worth is difficult to quantify, however, and I find myself puzzled greatly by it. I guess sometimes, some things just seem to touch a nerve. Some things just seem to connect solidly with something seemingly important. I suppose maybe one day, when it is too late, I'll fully understand it, and then, I'll have that.

why me?
18 February 05 - 22:28 |
someone hates me. someone with a gaggle of power. every time i stepped out of my car today (which, on account of my job was frequently) i was violently shocked. i know what you're thinking...shock=ow! no. imagine me, alex, getting out of my car in a high school parking lot...going to shut the door and AGGGGGHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAASHHHIIIIIIAAHAHHHHHHHGGGGGG!!! why me?

not so ugg-ly
18 February 05 - 10:57 |
as i was mindlessly driving down the road this morning, a fifty-year-old man getting out of his car caught my attention. he appeared to be a pretty normal looking guy, except for one thing... his feet. i thought i recognized the footwear, but i wasn't positive. as i passed by, however, my suspicions were confirmed.
this man was wearing UGG boots! (if you don't know what these are, go here or look them up on google).
i've always thought that UGG boots were a hideous trend. but as of today there is one exception in my mind... they're awesome on fifty-year-old men!

Forgery is an ugly mistress
17 February 05 - 16:42 |
I recently discovered that my writing is being published on the internet. Interestingly, the passage in question was published without my consent and - most amazingly - written without my participation or knowledge. Therein lies my topic; is it wrong to take credit for your own work even if you did had nothing to do with it? Neal, formerly considered an expert of the morals, has recently been discredited in this area. I welcome input from any of the innocents who post here.

not feelin' it
16 February 05 - 23:06 |
sometimes you feel it. sometimes you don't.
tonight, i don't. why? i don't know. does anyone care? i don't know. but honestly, i also don't care.
sorry to be so bland. at least its honest.
by the way, i would like to take the time to welcome uncle rico (alex) to indocilis. as always, make yourself at home.

Uncle Rico's Gift
16 February 05 - 22:34 |
Uncle Rico said today that, 'you haven't lived till you've bought a baby sized Allen Iverson Jersey.' Neal responded, 'your sister had a baby?'
Well. I'm here to dispell the myths. My sister did NOT have a baby. BUT, I remain Uncle Rico to all babies that grow from my friends. And just Rico to the rest of you.

Stern Rebuttal
15 February 05 - 23:35 |
While many may be sucked in by Alex's sweet and buttery falsehoods... DO NOT BE DECIEVED. The ROBOT WARRIOR FUND is doing very, very well, and there is a very very high likelihood that there will be a new ROBOT WARRIOR in place, very very soon.

LIES!!

the robot fund sucks. no one has offered more than a few cents. the only coins that aren't coppers were put there accidently. probably by me. i thought they were stale chips. sue me.

things here are grand. school keeps me very busy, and if i'm not doing that, then lately i've been having meetings, working out, doing school work, or just vegging out. surprisingly the one that i do the least of is the latter. i very rarely veg. sometimes i like to veg with neal, however! snuggle vegging is the best!
so i'm off, to eat some leftover pancakes, get dressed, and begin my day.
